Problem

Bold and bountiful, Goju is a distinct wellness brand offering healthy shots and juices across New Zealand. Their ingredients are ethically sourced from New Zealand and Fiji, underscoring their commitment to sustainability. Goju’s products are designed to boost immunity and provide a kick-start to the day, reflecting their dedication to health and wellbeing.

When Goju realised they needed a team to elevate their brand and increase online sales, they reached out to Backbone. They wanted a website that would grow their brand but, most importantly, they wanted a website that stood out from other competitors. Through innovative design features and cutting-edge tools, we helped Goju enhance its brand representation and significantly increase online sales.

Solution

A custom-made Shopify website

Our history with Goju goes way back. In fact, it all began when Lucy, our co-founder, was still freelancing. Once we built our agency, Goju knew we had the skills to implement their vision. At the time, they had a basic Shopify website and were ready to take their brand to the next level.

 

We crafted a custom theme built on Shopify’s Dawn theme, enabling Goju to use a uniform product page template with customisable sections. This innovative approach eliminated the need for individual custom product page templates, allowing for greater flexibility.

 

To ensure the website was engaging and reflective of Goju’s fun brand personality, we integrated several unique features including dynamic scrolling elements and a FAQ section with rich pull-out blocks. We also used built-in anchor links to improve navigation and user experience. Integrated icons and text on product pages added visual appeal and clarity.

Because of the way we build and design, we make everything dynamic. This means that when the branding shifted halfway through the project, we could quickly adjust and refine our design to meet the client’s evolving needs.

 

 

Subscription Management

As Goju offers various subscriptions, we integrated Recharge to streamline their automated payment process. Recharge is a comprehensive subscription management platform that facilitates everything from dynamic bundles to tiered discounts, providing unique insights and personalised customer experiences.

 

 

Customer Engagement

To enhance social proof and customer reviews, we utilised GroWave; an all-in-one app for marketing. We also developed Klaviyo flows and templates to optimise email marketing efforts.

When Goju reached out to us, they wanted to sell more. They wanted online sales to be a core part of the business and felt that the website didn’t represent the brand’s awesomeness.
